The Cloud Coat draws its sculptural silhouette from one of Ireland’s most familiar landscapes: the shifting drama of a cloudy sky. Voluminous, protective and full of character, it is a coat designed to bring shape and presence to winter dressing.

Quilted for added warmth through the colder months, the Cloud Coat combines practicality with a bold, asymmetric silhouette. The tie-detail sleeves can be fastened at the wrist or left loose, allowing the shape to be styled in different ways. Finished with a check linen detail inside the collar, it is a piece that draws on heritage while feeling distinctly modern.

The Cloud Coat is a special investment piece, designed to be worn, kept and passed on.

Crafted from Irish beetled linen, the coat carries the distinctive sheen and structure of a fabric shaped by one of Ireland’s oldest textile traditions. Through the beetling process, the linen is repeatedly pounded with wooden blocks for hours, creating a smooth, luminous surface with a crisp handle and greater water resistance than ordinary linen. Crafted from Irish beetled linen, this piece draws on one of Ireland’s oldest textile traditions. The beetling process gives the fabric its distinctive structure, smoothness and sheen, preserving a rare craft still practiced in Northern Ireland today. Care Instructions Dry clean only. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and store in a cool, dry place. Use a padded hanger or fold neatly to help maintain the shape of the garment.

Our made to order pieces have a production time of 3-4 weeks.

Ready to ship items will be shipped within 1-2 working days.

Delivery is £6, and free on orders over £250.

No customs charges for any of our pieces if based in the EU.

Linen, wound on a wooden beam and beaten under wooden hammers until the weave closes and a quiet sheen comes up.

It is done at Upperlands, in the last beetling mill in the world, on engines well over a century old. The sheen comes from the hammering, not from any finish.

It gives the cloth a crispness ordinary linen does not have, and lets it hold a shape.
